WELCOME TO HENLLANFALLTEG

Henllanfallteg Community Association | Voting | Medical | Vets | Education | Places of Worship
Post Office | Refuse Collection | Recycling Plant | Pub | Play Area | Deliveries | Libaries | Shopping | Leisure | Public Transport | Web Site | Comments

Henllanfallteg is not part of your address and you won't find it on any road signs but since 1935 it has been the official name of the Community you have come to live in. It comprises the villages/communities of Llanfallteg, Henllan Amgoed, Cwmfelin Boeth, Hiraeth, and Rhydywrach. Outside our Community Area you will not find too many people who have heard of it either! Use the village names – they are well known!
Postal addresses can be confusing but the vast majority are Whitland SA34, but there are in the western edge a few that are Clynderwen SA66 addresses. Phone numbers equally confusing with the western side mostly 01437 (up to the centre of Llanfallteg) and to the eastern side 01994, Whitland or Llanboidy numbers. The other exchange that borders onto us is 01834 Narberth on the southern side.

HENLLANFALLTEG COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION was set up in 1997 and subsequently took on with help from ACCT the construction of The Millennium Hall, with grant money from the National Lottery and Millennium Commission.
The Henllanfallteg Community Association has prepared this information for new residents. The Community Association publishes a newsletter every four months and organises functions throughout the year. Most of these take place in the new Millennium Hall in Llanfallteg where you also come and vote.

THE COUNTRY CARS SCHEME
This scheme aims to assist people who find themselves without transport for essential purposes such as to the doctors, dentists etc or to a source of public transport.  It is run by the WRVS, and financed and supported by Carmarthenshire County Council who pay for the fuel used by their teams of volunteer drivers.  A fare is charged, much like a bus fare, with bus passes halving the cost to people using the service.
New volunteers are welcome to the scheme, which doesn’t ask for more time than a volunteer is prepared to give – just a few hours a week is valued.
Contact Liz O’Neill on 01994 240717 about the scheme, bearing in mind that you must have genuine problems with transport.
