Make the most of your local green spaces whilst staying safe at the same time

Updated: 24th March 2020.
The playing field remains open as a ‘green-space’ for you to use. All fixed play equipment are out of bounds and NOT to be used. Groups / families from the same household can use the green-space together, otherwise please maintain social distancing guidance as set by Government, use responsibly and with the consideration of others. Wash your hands before and after play. We encourage contact-free play.

While we endure the turbulence from the Coronavirus outbreak, we are encouraged to seek exercise and the outdoors when we can. Many studies show the use of parks and green spaces provide positive physical and mental health well-being. The Government are advising people to go for walks, get some fresh air and natural sunlight.

So we wanted to let you know Llanfallteg park remains open for anyone who wants to get out for a bit, though we advise you take Government guidelines under consideration and maintain social distancing, and only go out if you have no symptoms of Covid-19, are not in one of the higher risk categories, being instructed to self-isolate, or living with someone exhibiting symptoms of the disease.

We encourage non-contact activities within the green spaces of the playing field, and for users to wash their hands before and after visiting.

Local residents can also access one of the many footpaths around the village for walks.

Events at the Playing Field

It is with a heavy heart we have decided to postpone all community events held in the playing field in 2020, until such a time is right for the country and the community. This includes the plant sale and village fete. We are confident however, that when the time is right, we shall once again bring the community together as we have always done at events like the Llanfallteg Village Fete. So until then, we thank you all for your support and look forward to getting back to normal village life.

We will continue to monitor the countries response to the current outbreak and take steps as and when appropriate.
